Brief History

The Mizoram State Veterinary Council was established under the Indian Veterinary Council Act 1984 and the 1st Council was formed in 1993 as per the Mizoram State Veterinary Council Rules 1991. Election to the Council as per the Rules have been held regularly and now the Council has formed its 8th Council for the term 2018- 2021 (see complete profile)

Objectives

The main objectives of the Council is to register Veterinary graduates under the provision of the Indian Veterinary Council Act 1984, maintain a Register of Practitioners. The Council also uphold Veterinary ethics and discipline by forming Disciplinary Committee and takes active part in Professional Efficiency Developments activities by holding Seminars and Workshops. It also conducts the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) conducted by the Veterinary Council of India for filling up seats for BVSc Courses under Veterinary Council of India quota.
